Vegan Georgia
[mood |contentcontent]

My husband and I are both vegan, and we dine at Cafe Life (attached to Life Grocery) almost every Sunday. Alas, there are no other restaurants in Cobb County that offer vegan cuisine, but we're big fans of Chef Michael's creations. We always notice the stark contrast between those entering Williamson Bro's BBQ (overweight and obese) to those entering Cafe Life (fit and trim). We're hoping to check out Lush pretty soon. We also like Cafe Sunflower and Sprout Cafe, although these require a trip inside the perimeter.

Vegan Georgia

I have been a vegetarian since about 1986. Vegetarianism was a piece of cake for me. No issue whatsoever. Becoming Vegan has been a never-ending challenge. I don't drink milk or eat eggs straight out, but if they are an ingredient, I usually will. (whereas I don't do that with meat at all)

Here are some of my issues, any suggestions or advice would be appreciated as I am finally at the point of being disgusted with myself for not being able to go vegan by now.

Cheese, god help me I love cheese. I have yet to find a good vegan alternative.

Eating out. I eat out a LOT. I do not cook and have no intentions of cooking. I do not eat fast food but what are some favorite vegan meals at other chain restaurants?

Convenience. Again I don't cook so ease is a must. I need to be able to grab something and go. Frozen, prepackaged, whatever. I love PBJ but there is only so much I can eat of it.

Pizza. My husband is NOT a vegetarian we order Pizza a lot. What major chains have vegan crust?

I know Peta has a nice list of easy vegan shopping items on their site but is there another sire that has a similar list or even a list for restaurants? I used to have a guide, by the vegetarian society I think, but I can't find it anymore.

Howdy, My name is Rick. I live in GA. I am NOT vegan or vegetarian, or closed minded. I believe in people following their own paths. My path is leading me into some "different" places. Places where I am now interested in finding out about the best places for vegan fare in the greater Atlanta Metro area. Does anyone have any useful input.

Hmmm...this community seems a little sparse. Nevertheless, I thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself...I live in Georgia (I'm sure that comes as a surprise) and I'm female (gasp). I'm also a vegan in a very, very, very non-vegan friendly town. A town that certainly tests your vegan/vegetarian limits and beliefs. I hate the place.

On another subject, I LOVE dogs. I rescue dogs. Or have rescued many dogs. I
have five I call my own...my doggie children. Malkovich
(pit bull), Champagne
(pit bull), Ripley
(pit bull), Ozzy
(Chihuahua) and Azzo
(German Shepherd). I do some simple dog training (with the exception of Azzo)
and I'll talk to just about anyone who's willing to "talk dog"...

The end.
